Become the Person You’re Afraid to Be
There’s a quote by Nietzsche that hits a little harder when you’re standing at the edge of something new:
“He who has a why can bear almost any how.”
And it’s true…your why doesn’t grow in comfort zones.
It doesn’t grow when everything feels safe, predictable, and controlled.
It grows when you decide to take the risk you’ve been talking yourself out of.
It grows when you step into unfamiliar territory with actual conviction instead of fear.
And let’s be honest…most people never get that far.
Not because they’re incapable.
But because they’re scared of what happens if it doesn’t work out.
They’re scared of being uncomfortable.
They’re scared of starting over, looking foolish, or failing in front of people who would never have the courage to try anything themselves.
But trying something new, risking something, is where everything shifts.
And Scripture backs that up:
“Fear not, for I am with you…I will strengthen you and help you.” Isaiah 41:10
Read that again.
If God is already in the unknown, then it’s not really the unknown, is it?
The fear you feel is normal.
But the calling on your life is bigger than the fear trying to hold you still.
Here’s the truth I remind myself of all the time:
You don’t wait for confidence to move.
You move and confidence shows up after.
You take the step.
You make the call.
You walk toward the thing that scares you because it’s also the thing that’s going to grow you.
Nothing great has ever come from staying where it’s safe.
So if you’re standing at the edge of something new, a decision, an opportunity, a risk…just know this:
Your why will carry you.
God will strengthen you.
And your next level is waiting on the other side of the courage you choose today.
Go.
Try the thing.
Take the risk.
Bet on yourself.
Your future is worth that.
