When Patience Takes Guts
People talk about courage like it’s always loud and tough. Like it’s all about big moves, big risks, and big wins. That’s the surface-level version most people recognize.
But there’s another kind of courage that doesn’t get talked about enough… and it’s the kind that actually builds you into someone unshakable.
It’s the courage to stay patient when your life feels like it’s falling apart.
The courage to not tap out when nothing is going your way. The strength to keep standing when you don’t have answers. The discipline to show up when you’re tired, stressed, anxious, and mentally over it. That’s real courage. That’s backbone.
Everyone wants the breakthrough. Everyone wants the blessing. But nobody wants the part of the journey where you have to wait without clarity… where you have to trust what you can’t see yet.
We weren’t meant to know the whole future… and that’s intentional. If we could see everything ahead of time, most of us would either chase something that’s not meant for us or run from the very thing that would grow us into who we’re called to be.
The situations that shape us usually aren’t comfortable. We wouldn’t choose them. But they stretch us, refine us, and prepare us. Just like Romans 5:3 to 5 tells us… suffering produces perseverance… perseverance produces character… and character produces hope. And hope is what keeps us from breaking.
If you’re in a storm right now and anxiety is hitting hard… if your thoughts won’t shut off and nothing feels steady… hear this.
You don’t need the entire plan today.
You just need the next step. One foot in front of the other. That’s it.
Look at what you still have. What is still good. What is still true. What you can be grateful for… even if it feels small. Gratitude keeps you grounded when life hits like a freight train.
And this is where Psalm 31:24 hits home… “Be strong and let your heart take courage… all you who hope in the Lord.” It doesn’t say you have to have it all figured out. It just says take courage. Hope in Him. That’s where your strength comes from.
For those who lean on scripture… use it. Speak it. Stand on it.
For those who haven’t found their faith yet… lean into what is true, honest, and good. Lean into the people who lift you up. Lean into the version of you that refuses to quit. Hope is for everyone.
This season isn’t here to destroy you. It’s here to develop you.
Patience isn’t passive. Patience is choosing faith over fear. Patience is courage in motion.
Keep showing up. Keep trusting that something is being built in you that you can’t see yet. You’re not going backward. You’re being leveled up.
Hold the line. Your breakthrough meets you on the other side of not giving up.
